This July, Nicolás Fund for Education and Encounter Church embarked on a life-changing mission trip to Guatemala. From exploring vibrant markets in Chichi to preparing for VBS at La Esperanza Primary School, every moment was filled with purpose and connection. The team participated in meaningful prayer walks, visited village families, and toured the historic San Juan Bautista Church. At Nicolás Christian School, they were warmly welcomed with open arms, cultural performances, and opportunities to teach, lead devotions, and even host a fun chopstick workshop! The journey wrapped up with heartfelt goodbyes, a scenic boat tour, and chocolate-making adventures.

Our Story

Nicolás Fund For Education provides students with the skills and opportunities they need to rise out of poverty and transform their lives. NFE is creating a generation of young leaders who can help bring about real and lasting change in their communities.

The Need

NFE seeks justice and equity for the Ixil, a Mayan indigenous region in Guatemala who have experienced systematic discrimination for over 400 years. They have also been targeted for extinction in a 36-year genocide. All of this has kept these families locked in poverty for generations.
